QMUL chat!

I found out today that I havn't been properly transferred from one degree to the other...I love QMUL's administration, not listing seminars I should have, not transferring my degree properly, putting the wrong modules on WebCT....FML.

On the plus side I finally got my maintenance grant/loan and the course organiser of Making History is letting me off the work I've missed because I didn't have my seminar listed :|

Btw CasinoBrawl was that you in QMessenger (awful paper btw, just meh) making some random face in the freshers fortnight pics?

Being serious it's some lame intro class really, just teaching you how to write a historical essay, it's crap, it's basically just recapping all the stuff we did at GCSE and A Level in regards to using sources correctly blah blah blah, it's the biggest waste of 2 hours of my life ever but we have to write an essay every week in it, which I'm two weeks behind because I didn't even have the seminar listed on my timetable so I thought I didn't have to go :confused:

Like 500-1,000 words on the subject we discuss that week, it's not too bad, whats more annoying is that the course doesn't even count towards to my degree but I still have to take it and if I fail this year due to lack of attendance, not handing in coursework or whatever I have to retake it next year, it's bloody nonsense :rolleyes:

Welcome to uni: aka more jumping through hoops than you could ever wish for :p:

But if it makes you feel better, it's not just History which does this crap, most departments put first years through some sort of A level recap course :facepalm2:

there was a fight in the chem lecture the other day :p:

and in another lecture people started walking out because they thought the lectureer was rubbish... the lecturer told us how it hurt watching people walk out... he then went on and sang a song... in bulgarian

And LOL sounds very strange. And rather rude tbh. If a lecturer's **** you don't walk out in the middle, by all means don't turn up in the future, but walking out in the middle is just wrong :s-smilie:

nope... but a very verbal and sweary one...
the azn rude boi gang were making noise in the back and some guy from somewhere towards the front got up and told them to shut up and then they screamed back down at him...

yeah there's less an less people coming to this guy's lecture every week, but it's kinda sad because he's so sweet... he just sort of has a tendancy to go off on tangents about his personal life :moon:
