Random question here, when your department asks you to double space something does that mean double space between the words or double space between lines? because I double spaced between words on my last essay but a friend of mine said it meant double space between lines. Oops :s-smilie:

Only the lines.

It's so strange having to write like that and when you process it on Word, every word that does not start with a capital letter at the beginning of each line is underlined in a green zig-zaggy line, much to my surprise. I then realised it must be because it's double-spaced.

Wut?

Are you double spacing by hand? :s-smilie:

You can set it to double space automarically, eradicating the green line problem.

For my first two essays I did as I wasn't sure that there was such a feature and plus because I'm not used to the idea of writing in double-spaces, so I wrote it out normally and then pressed enter to double-space the lines.

But, yeah, from next time, I'll just start with double-spaces.

Interesting. Yeah, I agree, the lecturers are really top notch, though the actual lectures are incredibly dull, most of the time.

Anyway, I think I may have broken the lift inside the Queen's Building :colondollar:

Tut tut, that's very baaaaaad!

I think I may have furiously pressed the "call" button too many times, and now it's just standing on the 3rd floor with the doors wide open :colondollar:

In my defence, it's the slowest lift in the world :shifty:

I agree, he's pretty good. I had him in my first year for physical chemistry for biologists, but the other lecturer was just awful.

Were you at the Liberalism lecture with Mark Pennington? that was like the most interesting politics lecture I've had since I've been here. It was nice not to have a socialist delivering it aswell, unlike most of the QMUL politics department :p:

I hate the ones in Foggs more. When you want it to come down to the ground floor it bloody goes up to the sixth floor and doesn't come down for ages!

Yeah, last Friday. I agree with you, that was a very interesting one. That 'story' at the end was really jokes. "Plain Jane miraculously got married" and "Plain Jane was fortunate enough to get anyone looking at her, let alone..." were comments that were too funny.

Maybe we should break that too :ninja: QMUL Terrorism! :lockstock:

Sounds like a plan! Best do it after Friday when I hand in some work to the reception. Yes, I'm that lazy to go up to the third floor. :p:

I still want to see that flamingo they stole though! :frown:

History and Politics? Go for it. I'm really enjoying it and I think it will be a really worthwhile degree. As for the uni, well, I have no complaints about it.
