History and Politics? Go for it. I'm really enjoying it and I think it will be a really worthwhile degree. As for the uni, well, I have no complaints about it.

Actually now that I've found some who does this course, I might as well take advantage. Do you remember the wider reading you did for the course before you started? Books that I can refer to in my PS? Cheers.

Feel free to ask me anything. As regards to this question, I didn't do any further reading for the course as I didn't see the need to. However, I recall mentioning reading "Andrew Marr's History of Britain" (or something like that), something which I think was good because it really gives an insight into the political history of the UK.

Ahh, I'll look into it, thanks!
Tbh you don't really need to do a load of background reading, all the reading you need for the course you do while you're here. If you're already doing History A level and read History books in your spare time you'll be well set for the course. Some knowledge of various political ideologies and of IR would be helpful aswell.
Anyone in the library atm?

I wonder if anyone noticed our message.

lol I was in the first lecture at 9 today and I noticed the message on the board, and remember some names from this site. Was funny our lecturer tried to drag the board down but couldn't reach so gave up :p:

Wooooh!

I said when we wrote the message that if even only one person came on TSR afterward and commented on it, I'd be happy, thank you sir! :awesome:

:hahaha:

Hmm, me too, might stop off there on my way back to see if it's been wiped off...

Anyway, I think I may have broken the lift inside the Queen's Building :colondollar:

Eh, that lift has been on it's last legs for ages; the sound it makes!
Haha I noticed all the TSR names on the board too. (In Mason?)

Oh, yay!

Your lecturer should blame Democracy for not being able to bring that board down! :p:

We were bored, and decided to do some advertising for TSR. :p:

Were you at the Liberalism lecture with Mark Pennington? that was like the most interesting politics lecture I've had since I've been here. It was nice not to have a socialist delivering it aswell, unlike most of the QMUL politics department :p:

Pennington is :top:

Don't get used to him though, he doesn't teach much in first yr (and nothing in second yr). If you do Comparative, he'll teach a bit in the second semester, but not much.

Is Choat still around? I can't remember. Who do you guys have for Intro? Lol at the experience of Madeline Davies, awful awful lecturer.

/Irrelevant.

I have an essay due soon and I. Want. To. Die. So much difference between first and second year!

Proposing Constitutional reform for the House of Lords, or something like that. BLEURTGH?!
ahmed
hey fellow qmulers
how is the revision going
time flies so fast its already week 6 and midterms :woo:

Midterms... erm? :s-smilie:

Edit: ******. Boss almost caught me on TSR.

Must. Stop. Slacking.

She's my personal adviser

Ugh, I hate my IR module. Well, I don't hate it, I enjoy what we're doing but having to read (at least!) four texts and then somehow squeeze all of that into a 1,000 word essay is not my idea of fun, at all. I really should get started on it today but Colin Firth and Christmas lights sound like the better option. I can tell this is going to be another one I'm going to be up until 6am writing :K:

Hmmm, remind me of my essay?

And you only have to use 4 sources? I'm working on minimum 10! (Though they're all min 2,500 essays so meh).
