I dont get praying (and Im a Muslim). If you have spare time, go and volunteer, if you have spare money to spend it on prayer facilities, spend it on the poor. If god exists he would probably prefer you to do this rather than waste your time everyday moaning to him. The guy has bigger problems to worry about.

Your call. But your point is rather invalid. Establishing prayer, after belief in the oneness of God and that Prophet Muhammed (SAW) is the final messenger, is the fundamental of Islam.

How long did it take for you to receive your student loan after your status changed to 'Assessed'?

have you not received a letter outlining the dates of payments to be made?
i think i got the letter about the same time the status changed... and got the first installment two weeks later

Btw ChemEng even if you apply early it doesn't protect you from their idiocity, I applied in the second week after applications were allowed and only got my full loan approved in the last few days of September.

As an aside I got a 1st on my European History essay today

Well done. What mark did you get? I'd be very disappointed if I do not get 65%+ for my first history essay. The only problem I think might be the fact I used too few sources. On the plus side, I got 63% for the presentation.

How much better is history than politics?

70, I made a few typos and apparently focused too much on one aspect of the question (economic and only touched upon social issues) but obviously did well enough in it to warrant a 1st I've now gone 60, 68 and 70. It's all good.

And yes History is so so much better than Politics, I'm more of an IR man myself though, thats why I applied for IR. I didn't realise it wasn't much more than a glorified politics degree, so I'm actually quite enjoying the IR module but not the Intro to Pol module. Kinda leaves me in a situation where I don't know if I want to switch to straight History for 2nd year, or whether to stick with His/Pol and see if I can shape the Politics side of my degree solely around IR modules.

70 is damn good, so well done. I mentioned all of the defining factors for my question, but it's just the number of sources I used. I quoted about 3-4, but I have like 7 in my bibliography.

Same here. I would have gone for Hsitory straight, but I thought it'd be too much history, though I love the subject. Is it really possible to change to straight history? If so, I might be doing that. Because I really am sick of all the marxism, conservatism, liberalism stuff.
