Hi everyone, so I'm nearing the end of year 12 now and I've had a complete change of what I want to do when I'm older and so I might be taking year 12 and year 13 English Lit all in one year. My a-levels at the minute are Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology and if I ended up doing English Literature I'm not sure if I would drop Chemistry or Psychology.

In the future at university I'd like to either study Biology or English Literature. For my top 3 university choices I wouldn't need Chemistry to study Biology so that's good. I don't get very good grades in Chemistry but I enjoy the subject whereas with Psychology I get really good grades and enjoy the subject a bit less but it's still okay.

I don't really need either of these A-levels so it's hard to decide which to drop. If anyone has any advice it would be very appreciated

Drop chemistry. If you’re going to be learning the whole of year 1 and year 2 English lit, its best to drop chemistry to avoid stress. Also there should be many other universities that allow you to study biology without having A level Chemistry

Yeah that's very true, Chemistry is quite stressful and if I'm already struggling with the year one content than it'll just mount the pressure of year 2 alongside year 1 and 2 English lit. And yes you're right there probably is way more I just checked the universities I'm thinking of applying to!
