i was dumb and didn’t hide my cigarettes good enough in my room and while my 10 year old sister was in my room, she saw them. she doesn’t fully understand what they are, but on the cigarette packet it says “smoking kills”, and because she doesn’t understand what smoking is, she thinks smoking once cigarette = instant death. she told my dad because she was scared im gonna die and my dad told me (who’s okay with me smoking as he thinks it’s just my decision whether i want to or not).

my dad wants me to talk to her so she gets that i’m not going to drop dead anytime soon because of it, but i have no idea how to explain that to a 10 year old. i barely smoke, i only smoke socially or when i’m drunk, but i doubt she’d understand that. aaahhh pls help. also ik smoking obviously kills i’m not dumb but in a 10 year olds head she thinks it’s a lethal injection or smth

You should not smoke in the first place, it would have prevented this situation and will prevent you from ever getting addicted.

Just go with the flow and say you bought it by mistake and that shes correct thinking if people have it they'll get very ill this way she'll stay away from it and itll stay a repellent dont be an influence on her or justify it or else when she's older she'll gain the habit from you

If you have only smoked 6, why won't you take the opportunity to quit now before it goes to a pack a day? Health issues aside, you will just be throwing money away.

Anyway, maybe it is good she thinks it will kill you suddenly. Maybe that will be a good incentive for her to not start.
