answering past paper/ exam questions with a text book
Well, it depends how you're using the textbook. If you answer the questions using the textbook and not really think about answering it without the textbook, then maybe no. However, if you attempt the questions then use the textbooks for reading up on stuff you got wrong, then maybe yes, but I'd suggest looking through mark schemes for the ones you don't know.
Hope this helps.
