Least Chavy? Durham/Bristol/Edinburgh/St.Andrews/Oxbridge wherever the public schoolkids go.
Most Chavy? The unis at the bung end of rankings presumably.

I would be surprised to see a 'chav' at a uni. From my understanding of the stereotype they don't exactly get on well with eductation..and so an extra two years leading up to uni and then having to pay for another 3 years doesn't sound like something they would do.

i agree! true chavs drop out before GCSE's, college/uni chavs r just wannabes  but they still count, coz they'll still bottle you for a fiver

at my uni, most people are quite wealthy and on my course, a bit educated - PE/Art/eng/gen studs/Drama/geog....etc alevels but still they dress exactly like a pikey chav.all of them. why???????????

what is the opposite to a chav?

Reply 7

There are pikey chavs and there are rich chavs. It's sad. The opposite to a chav? Difficult one..grunger/goth? or a a snob? Not sure.

At Soton we don't have many chavs at the university but the town is full of them

The Rahs/Yahs or whatever the posh, pretentious kids are called.

UEA don't have chavs at all. Unfortunately Norwich itself has loads. And most of them have never been outside of Norfolk

Reply 10

Kings doesnt have a single chav. Well, not that I've seen. Nor do I see many chavs in central London, or round Lambeth, where I live. Instead, in Lambeth they are proper gangsta's who look at you like they're gonna rip your heart out.

Unis like Bristol and Durham from what I can tell have absolutely none. I don't think most of them get 3 A grades at A-level  The cities themselves are another matter though - it's quite funny spending a bit of time in the student districts of Bristol where it's all nice clothes and ponchos and posh accents, and then going to somewhere more local-orientated where you get your Vicky Pollards

there was a chav-costume party at halloween but i think that's as far as it goes here..

hehe...some bristolian girl was smoking on the top floor of a double decker bus and we asked her if she knew a "Vicky Polard". she just said..."wahhhh? i dunno, *calls to friend* "Kelly, do you know a vicky polard..?"

obviously the charms of little britain are lost on some people..

Not among the students though. And it's nothing compared with home.

Well, I haven't stayed at Cambridge for long, but I can almost certainly assure you that there are more chavs in Mansfield than in Cambridge.

Reply 18

No, I mean the students.
My college is like Burburry Central.

I remember the students from Brighton Uni seemed quite 'chavy' when we played them at football. Or maybe unintelligent is more accurate. Definitely Hertfordshire - full of chavs!!
