I’ve been trying Tinder for the first time and have a small number of matches but after days none of my reply. Any advice? It’s frustrating! I’m a guy

I think it just simply comes down to choice for girls. I'm friends with a girl that used to be on tinder and it isn't unusual to get about 30 matches in a week. Basically they get a lot of guys and your lucky when they give you the time. Just keep finding girls and you'll get responses you must not have been on long.

Try new openings.

Generally tinder is pretty short term attention, you have to reply very shortly after matching and see you if they reply.

Also girls generally get lots of matches, good chance they are receiving messages from 4 or 5 guys, ultimately a boring message and slow time to open will be skipped.

I’ll try and meet girls through friends instead, probably will have more success than Tinder

You've gotta be good looking with good photos and/or rich and a perfect or near-perfect profile. The way dating apps are set up it's very difficult for men to get matches if they don't fit certain criteria. There is simply too much supply on the male side, and too much demand on the female side. This is more evident with dating apps that adopt the swipe feature.

I've tried a few dating apps and didn't get that many matches. The matches I did get was because:

- the person was from another country and needed help coming to the UK (wants a visa)
- is in the country illegally and wants help to remain there
- is a single mother
- I mentioned I have my own house and listed my salary range
