Hey TSR,

I wanted to know whether you could still apply for grants an bursaries if you have savings (enough to cover costs at uni)?

Or even for SFE?

Do Savings affect university grants........
It certainly doesn't count as income. In any case it doesn't matter - you're assessed by your parents income, not your own. All full-time students are assessed as having an income of 0 of their own for grant and loan purposes. It shouldn't affect your filing at all.

Do bursaries count as income UK......
Non-taxable income includes bursaries, grants and scholarships, other state benefits such as Child Tax Credits or Disability Living Allowance, plus interest from ISA savings accounts. And, perhaps most importantly, Student Loans do not count as taxable income in the UK.

Most scholarships are not dependent on your finances, but on merit. Bursaries, on the other hand, are more related to your financial situation. Have a look at what is on offer at the RAU: https://www.rau.ac.uk/study/undergra...s-scholarships Thanks, Ksenia
