The salt to the sea is a historical fiction set in ww2 about the real life stories of war refugees who drowned in a evacuation ship in germany. Its a beautiful read

A classic ww2 book based mostly on fiction (I think) but still well written and emotional is "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak

There is a brilliant book by Alan Aldridge called 'Religion in the Contemporary World' which might interest you. Although I don't agree with a lot of his politics, Jordan Peterson has written some interesting books on psychology and philosophy. I think the first is called '12 rules for life'

The books by Cathy glass, Lisa stone and mike pannett are all worth a read.
