Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had grade 8-9 essays they have written for the AQA Love and Relationships section that I could have a look at as my current essays are a level 7 (sometimes 6) and I am aiming for an 8 in English Lit, so it would be great if I could get a sense of what I should be writing in my exams. It would be so so helpful )

Hey sorry, I don't, but have you tried looking on the internet. Some websites can have some essay example.
Also defo look at GCSE AQA English Lit Specification, (This shows what the assessments, etc, are graded on, so this might help you see how to improve).
One thing that my teacher told me to do was use Sophisticated vocabulary

Literally using a lot more sophisticated words and also thinking outside the box and giving a lot more unique opinions and ideas about whatever. My teacher also told us never to use the word "I", and say instead "The audience", "the reader"..... or "we can percieve that", "The writer wants to portray...".

This year exams were different, so I did an unseen poetry test, where I had to compare two poems and talk about how the writer portrayed a certain feeling using language, form and structure about one of the poems. These were two separate questions.
I got around 20/24 for one of them and like 7/8 for the other I think. I used quite a lot of sophisticated vocab, explored different language techniques, structure, and form from the poem, and explained different deeper reasons for each point.

Any way, hope you find what you are looking for
