Are end of year 12 mocks important if i take a gap year?

I'm aware that year 12 mocks detemine the predicted ucas grades for uni but would the unis still take in to consideration these grades if i have a gap year as when applying they already know my final alevel results.

I think most people who take a gap year apply in the same year but apply for deferred entry so your UCAS grades will be used in deciding whether you get a place in the following year
