I have firmed Leeds and I have found out that applicants who have firmed are able to place their accommodation request first (deadline July 1st) whereas other have to wait until results day. Does anyone known if this means that for firmed applicants will have a higher chance of getting their first choice?

There is an approximate quota for each, but yes, it does mean that firmed applicants have a slightly higher chance. Those who apply later still have a good chance though.
