Hello, everyone.

I am a person who is very interested in studying Computer Science/Maths at the likes of Imperial College of London, University College of London (UCL), University St. Andrew's or Oxbridge.

I've always loved the concept of Artificial Intelligence an Software Engineering and also just the subjects of computer science and maths in general.

Although, I also have a love for film and animation, and most of my achievements & extra-curriculars have been in this area, e.g. my animation has been placed in many film festivals and has won an award etc. Don't get me wrong, I have extra-curriculars & work experience in computer science & math-related things too, but just not as much as what I have for film & animation, which is something I intend on keeping up as a hobby.

MY QUESTION: How do I integrate what I have done for the film industry into a personal statement that is more tailored towards computer science/maths? How do I twist them so that they would be beneficial to a compsci/maths student in any way? Also - what books, podcasts, shows would you all recommend for me to look into to add to my personal statement?

Many thanks. I appreciate all the help I get

1) You should mention this in your final paragraph about hobbies and 'other stuff'. You aren't applying for a film degree.

2) Look at this list from Cambridge - https://www.undergraduate.study.cam....uggestions.pdf and at Gresham College podcasts - lectures by leading academics - https://www.gresham.ac.uk/watch/?sub...earch=computer

Hello! Thanks for answering. I'll definitely look into the list from Cambridge and the podcasts . What did you mean that I have to mention in the final paragraph? My film activites?

“My interest in computing extends to animation where I’ve... XYZ”.

Agree that this should be a shorter final paragraph. Keep your focus on your suitability and motivation for the content of the course that you are applying for.
