It won't take you until year 10/11 to come across a question like this, one of the year 9 exam questions in my school. In my opinion, this is a grade 8/9 GCSE question, or it may be up to A level maths standard??
That was the last question on my year 9 end of year exam paper in 2018. We only have 12 years of schooling instead of 13.
By doing this question, you can find why Asians are so good at Maths. Please ignore all markings.
Try giving this question to a year 9 in UK, do you think he/she will give up on it?
When we Asians do GCSE Maths most of us come out with 8/9 thanks to regularly facing questions like this.

By the way, here is another insane question. ABCD is a square here. It was on my sister's exam paper for year 8. I think this is around grade 5-7 level in GCSE.
Try giving this to a year 8 in UK. Will he/she surrender?

These are just using trigonometry. In England I think I learnt trig in year 9 and 10.
