I think flowers are also associated with spring and in general, more feminine patterns/tones.

Because it is nice, I only have a couple of items which have flowers on. I think it is a bit more summery looking

Probably because girls baby toys are covered in flower imagery and stuff so it just becomes enshrined as something they like. Same with a lot of men and fascination in sports / the military / cars. Just what we grow up with.
