I'm looking at an ECG and it has no P wave. I don't know exactly how accurate it is but there is no visible P wave until a bit later on and even then it's smaller and intermittent.

What exactly does this mean?

Why are you looking at an ECG if you don't know what it means and how to interpret it? I hope you're a student, in which case you should ask your lecturer.

I'm a bit embarrassed to speak to him. I will ask though.

If this is your own ECG you are looking at, you should be asking your GP. If this is just a uni task though - it sounds like it might either be intermittent AF or complete heart block. "The ECG Made Easy" is a great book for learning about how to interpret ECGs.

Luckily I have never had an ECG which is why all of this is so new to me.
