Anyone else applied to gov legal dept? Start date is 2023 but I’m confused as to if we’re expected to have completed our LPC (or equivalent) before then?

Yes, and yes. The start date is the start of your TC, which means you have to have completed your GDL and/or LPC first

There's a whole thread for the Gov Legal applications called: GLS/GLP Legal Trainee Scheme 2021

I hope that helps! <3

Hey! No worries.

It says on their website that "generally" they can pay for your LPC if you have not started the course. I have assumed it to be a yes in response to your question, but I understand why you are confused - the use of the word 'generally' makes it feel vague.

I would need them to pay for mine too, so I hope they do!
