Any more points you can give me to help me with this so far i got:
- Media is becoming increasingly important in all of its forms, published and broadcasts.
- Vast amount of money is spent by parties.
-Public gain their political information via the media-thus successful coverage is important.

However, AO1 points:
-Media is important however other factors need to be considered- policies, leaders, electoral system.
-Social and partisan factors are more important than the media.

AO2 AGREEMENT :
-Political parties dare not make a mistake as it will be amplified by the media and could be fatal.
- A wide range of groups – lobbyists, PGs media owners think that the media is all powerful.

I need more points i do have AO3 points but wont add them in as this is already a long forum

Democracy is a popularity contest and the media decides who is popular.

You could mention how media isn’t impactful on all groups of society. Young people usually pay more attention to the media- old people usually get their info from TV and newspapers. Limits their influence. Also social media doesn’t really discuss serious political decisions.

But you could mention how important parties see the media eg reported the Conservatives spent £100k on Facebook advertising.

But I would argue that party leadership/ party unity is the most important factor. Partisan and class dealignment means parties can’t rely on voters anymore. They need to have a strong mandate with clear aims. Hope this helps.

You can use Seneca for some good stats esp if you’re doing Edexcel a level politics
