Pre-registration Allied Health Sciences (Msc)

Dear all,

I have received a conditional offer to study Occupational Therapy (Msc) pre-registration.

Reporting from a website:
"This is not the standard postgraduate student loan but the same loan as that accessed by undergraduate students to cover tuition fees and support living costs."

As I have understood, it seems that these types of courses (Allied health sciences at postgrad.) are treated similarly to undergraduate degrees (i.e. fee + maintenance loan).

My question is: will I need to apply to my course through undergraduate's loan or master's loan with SFE?

Thanks.

Best wishes,
Giordano

Hi Giordano, please apply for undergraduate funding for your postgraduate healthcare course.

We advised new applicants to apply by the 21/05/2021 to receive funding on time.
Thanks, Isaac

Dear Isaac,

Thank you so much for your prompt answer.

Just one more thing.

Even if I have just finished my undergraduate degree, when applying for a new undergraduate funding (Postgraduate Healthcare Course) I do NOT consider myself as a continuing student, is that right?

Also, when I log in to my student finance it says: There are currently no undergraduate applications available.
Is it because I am an EU student (although with settled status)? So do I have to send the form by post?

Thank you in advance.

Best wishes,

Giordano

You are classed as a new student.

If you have full (not pre) settled status then you can apply as a UK home student but you will need to send in a paper form so we can transfer your account from the EU system to the SFE system. Once your account has been transferred to the SFE system you will be able to apply online in the future.

Your settled status share code http://ow.ly/SPsB30rpd92 can be used as proof of ID. Please enter the share code on the form.

The form can be downloaded here http://ow.ly/d/8pbk

I advise you to apply as soon as possible. If you apply now the application might be approved by September.
Thanks, Isaac

That is great.

And if you are pre-settled status? I guess I will need to wait to become settled and then send in a paper form to transfer my account from EU to SFE?

Thanks for the documentation.

If you have pre settled status you can't apply for SFE funding until you receive settled status.

For now you can apply as an EU student for the Tuition Fee Loan only by completing the EU21N form and sending it in the post.

Hi Isaac,

Thanks!

So if I understood well, being an EU student with pre-settled status, I am entitled to tuition fee loan only.
However, from the beginning of September I should have enough documentation to obtain the settled status.
Once obtained, would be possible to apply for a maintenance loan separately (from the fee loan)?

Or would you suggest me to wait for my settled status and then apply for the loan altogether (fee and maintenance)?

Best wishes,

Giordano

If you receive settled status after 01/09 then you won't be entitled to SFE home student funding until term 2 in January.

So you can apply for the EU funding now. Once you receive settled status you can send in the PN1 form http://ow.ly/d/8pbk with your settled status share code.
Thanks, Isaac
