Hello,

so the deadline for applying for student finance is quickly approaching, and my university’s deadline for finding a placement is 31st of July. If I do not find a placement by this date then my course is automatically converted to continue into third year as normal.

My question is as follows, when I try to apply for student finance as of today SFE says that £1850 is the tuition fee for this year as advised by my university due to the planned placement. If I don’t manage to secure a placement by 31st of July, will there be funding issues due to my uni wanting £9250 for the normal third year instead of the £1850 that SFE is currently advising? Should I manually try to change the value to £9250 in case I don’t secure a placement?

Hi there, if you don't secure a placement you need to amend your application and change the course to the 3 year version so that the full 9250 fees can be paid.
