UCAT score required for University of East Anglia

Hi, I'm thinking of applying to the University of East Anglia for medicine 2022 entry and was wondering what UCAT score is generally required as the website is a bit vague. Thanks!

UEA combine UCAT scores with a score for academic performance (usually GCSEs) so there isn't a strict cut-off. In 2019 the average score for people interviewed was 2553 and the average for those getting an offer was slightly higher at 2644. The lowest score to get an offer was 2260 so there's a huge range that would be "acceptable" depending on your academics.

Not anymore, they don’t. Been a straight UCAT cut off for maybe 3 years now.

FOI request specifically for 2021 cycle states no strict cut-off or threshold score is used so I was under the assumption they took a more holistic approach?

All med schools say no strict cut off, unless it is a minimum score like Sheffield's threshold, or Barts 3rd centile, or Keele etc. All they mean is it varies year to year, dependent on the cohort

UEA used GCSE and UCAT until, I think, 3 years ago, and since then have used a sraight UCAT cut off, although until this year, and possibly 2020 entry, they interviewed everyone who appliend who met minimum requirements, so they are right, there has been no cut off.
Looking at the thread for this year, it seems they have needed a much higher score than in recent years. The website for 2022 does seem to have changed its wording to say "UCAT scores may be used to rank the applicants for selection for interview", but they have generally been pretty open when asked for info, so @IBkidinthecorner, why don't you try contacting them and ask?

They also use UCAT for 50% of post interview scoring

Thank you so much for this info! Yes, I think emailing them might be the best option
