Describe how mRNA is produced from an exposed template Strand of DNA
Do NOT include DNA helicase or splicing in your answer

Free nucleotides align against and form bonds with the bases on the template strand through complementary base pairing of adenine with uracil and guanine with cytosine. RNA polymerase (I think) forms phosphodiester bonds between the nucleotides through condensation reactions (which then also release a water molecule as a by-product).
