Anyone whose CTC clearance is complete, do you know whether they contacted your current supervisor?

Mines done but it just says I'll be contacted soon with a start date or to discuss what happens next. No other information really.

Yes, my current line manager was contacted within a week or so of my CTC clearing.

Hi Mrumar Congratulations.

I guess everyone has now got the security clearance. It has been a long drag and it is almost losing the shine for me.

Does the civil service accept one to moonlight?

I handed in my notice yesterday, I currently work in the police. I thought my supervision wouldn’t be surprised and expected them to have received reference requests etc etc but they had absolutely no idea! Just shows how different it is for everyone! Also none of my personal references were requested either 🤷🏻*♀️

Is anyone who passed their security checks in early December still waiting to hear about a start date? Applied in July, had an interview in September, provisional offer in November and passed security checks in December. Just wondering how much longer I should leave it before I email again.

Reply 590

@lucy123xxx I had a similar timeframe to you. I got notified that I passed my security checks on Xmas eve and then got my start date on the 29th of December via email. I’d maybe just send an email chasing it up.

Thank you! Which office is it for if you don’t mind me asking? And when is your start date? Mine is the Glasgow office. I’ll give it to Monday and send an email then if I haven’t heard anything.

Reply 592

@lucy123xxx I’m also the Glasgow office. My start date is the 7th of February.

I passed all my security checks and received a start date for 28th March but I have withdrawn my application and accepted another Civil Service job. I had some insight into the role through my research and a colleague at my workplace, who did the job. Lets just say, it is interesting but will be a really really highly target driven environment, with enormous workloads and little pay in contrast to the job!
Good Luck everybody and hope it all goes well😬🙂

Mine was around 7 weeks but I believe it was location dependent and some other locations heard slightly before but only by a few days I think

Yes! Nice to have some positive news at the end of the year, London, what about you?

Sorry to hear you're still waiting 😔 I already had security clearance so it was only a couple of weeks from the ID Interview. Have you been able to chase it up?

Hi I got a start date of 28 March. I only heard from the Academy. Nothing from HR. No contract. No discussion on how i want to work. Are we not getting sent a contract? If you dont mind can you DM me please since we are likely to be in the same office and you are starting 2 weeks before me. Thank you

Congratulation for the new job. I got the same date. If you don't mind please expound on the ''targets and the workload'' they shared with you. Thank you

I applied for a HEO role and did my interview on the 21st of November. I got my provisional offer yesterday. It can take ages. It took me 4 weeks to hear back for my EO role when I applied for it.

Hi I have been offered both the asylum decision maker and a criminal investigator. I have a young family and just wondering if anyone with previous experience would totally rule out the asylum decision maker ?
