Hi everybody! do you know if it's possible to change the location preferences after passing the OAC? Do you think it's a good idea to email them saying that now that I realise I prefer my second choice of work location?

Thank you in advance!

Hi in the q&a they said it's not possible as someone asked that same question, so no

I would take everything said by hosts in the Q and A with a pinch of salt, as I'm not entirely convinced the hosts knew the answers to a lot of the questions. For example, in the Q&A I attended, the hosts were giving different answers out to the same question.

I don't think it's possible to change your preference, but no harm in sending a request through.

have my OAC tomorrow and have a quick question, are you given objectives you have you have to follow? like certain questions you need to ask or is it all off the top of your head?

Afternoon all
Is there a Q&A that has taken place ? Did we need an invite to attend?
Thanks 🙏

You will be asked to complete 2 tasks. The first being a Roleplay session and the second being a written exercise.

During roleplay you will be assessed on "Communicating and Influencing", whilst on the written exercise it will be on "Making Effective Decisions".
The roleplay is an interview setting and the tips I would recommend are:
Adjust your communication style in response to the role-actors
Be careful to demonstrate that you value the role-actors opinion and don't talk over them.

Keep in mind sensitivity and diplomacy at all times with role-actor.

As for the written exercise:
Make sure your decision is clear while outlining how you reached your decision having considered all options, risks and wider implications. (There are no right or wrong answers for this part)

The roleplay lasted about 8 minutes and the written task about 25 minutes. Hope this helps, good luck!

So many rejections being handed out today, part of me is hoping it’s a glitch but probably not lol :frown: I did get an email after doing the first test we ever took to say I had been unsuccessful though, don’t know if anyone else had the same experience - and then a few days later i got another email to say I was successful 🤷*♀️ 😂 think it’s just wishful thinking on my part tbh. Hopefully we all manage to find something else soon. Was a good experience.

Lol I hope my rejection email was a glitch too 😆 tbh I might reapply in a years time if possible/opportunity comes up again

Best of luck either way 😊

Very helpful! Thank you very much! Do you mind if I ask you what do they ask for during the pre employment checks? Did they ask you for references from previous employers, university degree, etc?

Thank you in advance!

They just wanted to make sure I had the right to live and work in the UK, so I had to provide proof of address, a bank statement and birth certificate.

At no point in the application process did they ever ask about previous employers or education, perhaps they would afterwards if I was successful in the OAC.

Before my OAC I was preparing a lot as if it was going to be a standard interview. I had questions, answers and examples prepared according to the competencies and skills listed on the job description. That was pointless as it turned out they were only interested in the two exercises.

I did think it was odd to make it so far through the application process when they know almost nothing about me!

This was pretty much the advice I was looking for, I asked a few days ago and was not really advised, so thank you

We are waiting for that decision that’s what the next stage is all about , we will find out wether we will receive an offer or be placed on reserve list… I just want the offer to be honest, it has been a long and stressful wait 😩 haha let’s hope by end of this week we’ll find out…

My OAC was cancelled twice and I have to reschedule it because for some reason zoom audio was not working , I have now sorted it , just wondering what zoom features are going to be used like when they asked you to open the link at tazio then do we have to write in word file or their own document ??

I have heard back (it took a month or more) and I've booked my OAC now
