It was fairly standard have you had any of the following medical conditions then tick yes or no. Then they want details of condition medication and how you are now. It seems to repeat a lot. I hope providing it doesn't affect your ability to do your job then it should be fine.

That's great, thanks so much for the info, appreciate it!

Yes they did, no time off is allowed during training so you'd need to either move your start date or give up whatever plans you had. They do also ask for prebooked holidays there after.

I won’t be able to start until September then as I have two pre booked holidays; one in July and one in August. I had to book them for these times because I have kids. I could also really do with chatting to someone from the Solihull office and just confirming a few things because I think their systems of working have changed recently and I want to know shift patterns etc. I also really would like to receive some sort of document telling me more in depth information about the role now we’ve got this far. I feel like we still know next to nothing about what our day to day workload will consist of! Anyone else feel the same?

Totally agree! This is my concern, it seems very much get you in the door and you'll find out how we work then which is really unrealistic.
I asked about wfh balance and if this could be adjusted and got a blanket email back to state it's 60/40 but you *could* speak to your manager once you're in the role. I have no info on shift patterns, the flexible working or even payroll dates as that will need to be considered too. I think alot of this should really be covered 121 with either a representative of the team you'll be going in to or the manager you'll be reporting to *before* you make a decision.

Yep. I feel the same I can start beginning of May or June. If I'm not in post by then it's going to be Sept too because of the school Holidays.
You talk about shift patterns... I was led to believe its pretty much 9-5? Has this changed?
I have also been offered Solihull. I am not prepared to work evenings or weekends?

So frustrating, isn't it?

I believe it's between 7am - 7pm, core hours are 10-3 but again nothing has been clarified. If they provided an example of shift patterns it would help

Sorry shift pattern probably isn’t the right term, I mean how often we can actually work from home and whether this could change last minute and what the repercussions of this would be. I have 3 young children so can’t really change plans last minute and I wish it was all a bit more set in stone what was expected of us!

7-7 would be great for me as I could work up until 7pm on days I’ve been out doing the school run. I hope this is right!

Me too two young children, that's why I was concerned when you said shifts. I rely on my husband for childcare, so it would be nice if I could drop or pick the kids on occasion but I can't say I will then can't last minute because it would throw his hours out. I wonder if there is a possibility of working four long days to have an extra day off? (Could really help with school holidays).

I’d like to do 4 longer days too I think. Maybe not every single week but sometimes. I just hope it’s as flexible as they have advertised!

Everything. If you go on the vetting website it breaks it down down for you.

I did my security checks yesterday, there are questions about finances, and police checks and they go into depth about relationships too. I think covering the last three years of relationships for you, and your parents and any partners they have had in the last three years. Plus employment with references covering the last 12 months. It was a lot more in depth than I expected.

I think in a role like this, with such a high turnover having flexibility over hours is one of the things that will attract people to the post. But if flexibility is poor they are going to lose people quickly to other civil service posts.

Yeah I don’t think you can, I’ve accepted Bootle as it’s closer to home

I am very confused for the CTC scan as I have been living in the uk since 2016 , only time I left uk for more than 6months was during 2020 due to covid outbreak i gotta go back to my home country. But tdy they replied saying I did not comply with the residency eligibility and decline my offer. Anyone has same problem

Oh no, really?? I’m worried about something similar as I lived in UK between 2013 and 2016, then Canada, and then I moved back at the beginning of 2019 and haven’t left since. I truly hope this won’t affect the outcome 😭😭

I emailed them asking if my references have been received and they replied 4-5 days later saying that all my work references have been completed and it’s just other pre employment checks left so I’d say just leave an email and they should get back to you
