Do feelings matter when having sex?

I'm 22 and still a virgin. I'm not really bothered by it as it's just my personal choice. I feel like I wouldn't really get with someone unless I was really into them. ****ing someone without having feelings for them seems like empty meaningless sex. Am I overthinking or does having feelings for someone really matter when it comes to sex? Does it make the experience any better?

If you have sex with someone you care deeply about the rush of oxytocin that comes with it gives you a deeper bond with that person. If there's no feelings involved then it's just a fun for the moment kind of thing, a dopamine rush. If you have sex without feelings I wouldn't say you wouldn't enjoy it but it wouldn't necessarily be as good as it can be because its missing something. Brain chemistry would say sex with the right person is far better than just doing it for the sake of it with anyone.

depends on the person op
i can understand why you would want to have sex with someone you have formed a connection with the first time round, as it is a physical end emotional rollercoaster for sure
