Why is the Manchester gcse requirements so high for computer science? Other top universities at most would just require maths and English gcse, with sometimes a 6 in maths being required. But Manchester are asking for five GCSEs at 7s and 6s with two of them being in maths and a science related subject. How come Manchester are much stricter with gcse requirements compared to other universities?

Its a very popular course so they can be more demanding. Plus loads of schools completely over-predict A levels so this may be a way to keep numbers down.
