I have braces, and they make my teeth 'click' if you get me, like if I push my teeth with my tongue they feel like theyre popping in/out of position but they're not visibly moving. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this? It really really scares me as I have a massive fear of losing teeth and atm I can't even eat without having to run to the mirror to make sure they're all still there at least 6 times, but as I said you can't see them moving at all like not even a millimetre but I just have the feeling of them like popping. Please tell me if its normal to feel them doing this, because I'm really struggling and I'm losing weight because I can't eat properly without being in extreme fear. Please don't judge me

I don't currently have braces but I had them for a few months in 2019, yes that is completely normal and it seems we have similar experiences

I had this, I lost weight because of it and in the end I was called in for a talk about it, I was told it was normal and normal to panic.

Please do not worry, and maybe book an appointment with your orthodontist so they can explain in more detail?

Did you have the clicking thing? That's what scares me the most because I like oh no my teeth are loose they're gonna fall out and then I panic

I have an appointment in 2 weeks anyway, I might ask but my orthodontist creeps me out so I might just die inside instead 😂

Your teeth are loose - the purpose of braces is to loosen them and move them into a new position so this is totally normal! But your teeth will not fall out, and eventually they will stop moving (but it will be some time after you have had your braces taken off). Hopefully, the orthodontist will be able to explain things a bit better and to reassure you.
