I'm not sure what course I want to do at university. Definitely some type of engineering or physics. I know I want to apply to top unis so I was wondering how would go about writing a personal statement.

You will have a higher chance of getting into a top uni if you include a specific course in your personal statement. You can always switch courses after the first year.

You’re not going to be able to write a good PS without working out what courses you want to study. You might be able to write a PS but it won’t be good.

Normally I would recommend writing a PS for each subject as that will often help you to work out what you want to study but I think you need to do more research before you get to that point. Order some prpspectuses, book onto virtual open days and start finding out what courses are available to you at your preferred universities. Once you have done that basic bit of research you should be able to start narrowing it down.
