Im not sure what to do at this point, ive missed alot of school due to mental health reasons. I have year 10 mocks happening currently and ive already missed 3 of the exams. And i have 6 more following i think i cant miss all of them and im going to have to resit the 3 that ive missed.
Its just that missing school has made me miss out on alot of content and everythings just piling on. Sorry if i cant explain it well but the reason im missing these exams is that i feel that im not prepared enough and that i might get a bad grade and so, ive tried everything but im seriously at my lowest, i dont know how i can help myself further, and i want to ask for help but im not sure how either.
Ive been trying to study and get back on track however i seem to get distracted often and lose focus alot easily. I never knew how to study either only the usual reread and highlight but ofc thats not helpful at all. Ive searched for yt vids and come across people like ali abdaal i think thats his name and udoka fintelmann who give really good studying tips, and ive tried implementing the tips too but havnt carried it out too often.
Also we've missed the whole of year 9 which has made the entire thing alot more difficult than it is, missing content, trying to catch up, overloaded school work home work. Idk if im overreacting but i just cba anymore im so tired
My memory has gone so bad aswell i can barely remember hw that we're given, when i study something i forget it the next day, i have no motivation, loss of appetite yet im still so fat 😂, anxiety, feelings of dread. I just feel like im the only one experiencing this, when i go school everyones jus living their normal lives, laughing socialising, dont get me wrong there must be some people who are going through it too but like all this has disabled me from having fun, having normal conversations, being myself etc.
I want to help people too so if anyone has problems too, reply to this thread or something
This might be all over the place but maybe theres someone out there who can offer some advice on my situation or atleast are also experiencing similar things im going through. id really appreciate it.

First of all, you need to breathe deeply to relax. Second, if you have friends that had not missed out, you may turn to them for help.

You don't have to feel shy about asking for help. Perhaps, you can ask them in a way that won't make them hesitant to help you.

Prioritise your own mental health over doing exams that mean nothing. You and your health are more important that sitting exams, the results of which will be used by the school as a comparison as to how well they are doing against the national average.
Your mental health is more important than the analysis of local school attainment.

You're under no pressure, just focus on you

It can be really difficult, but you will know who your friends are if one of them is willing to help you.

I'm confused - are you in Year 10 now?

If so, how did you miss Year 9? You need to reach out to a teacher to get additional support to get back on track.

Yeah im in year 10, i missed most of year 9 due to lockdown. Ive talked to a pastoral staff, they deal with students, and hes told me to go to each one of them after school or anytime and tell them i need help. Idk whats stopping me though. The problem is me i guess.

?? Lockdown was only at the end of March and part of term 3 and we went back in June - so I don't understand why you missed Year 9

You need to be brave - maybe write a note if you are too shy to go in person

No, the first term is the most content heavy as it's the longest - you would have covered three quarters of the work. In the summer term you have exams and acitvities which takes out a lot of teaching time.

Reach out please
