Private candidate -UCAS-A level

Hey ,
I have sat a A level as a private candidate .I would be getting my result this Aug. I have applied to uni this year , would my A level result that I sat privately would it be sent onto ucas automatically to my unis or would I have to do that

As long as you included the exam centre and A level details on your application the ucas will match the results from the exam boards to your application.

If you didn’t include the A level in your application then you need to fill in the qualification changes form on the ucas website and then notify your universities.

Ok thanks but is this for adding another a level that I didn’t add previously . Basically I decided to take an a level as a private candidate which wasn’t included on my ucas . I have filled in the form I mentioned that I need this qualification added . Does this mean they will add jt ? Also I would be getting my a level result this August would ucas receive the grade for this a level since I have filled in that form ?

Should be OK as long as you entered the new A level with your original UCI.

If there is an issue on Results Day then talk to the entering centre and it can normally be sorted within 24 hours - but you would then need to tell the university to check again,

Hi OP, can you share a bit of your experience how it went and where to notify university of your 4th result, and helping me out with 2 below questions ?

I am taking 4th subject in AS Further Math, as my school does not offer, and should have result coming in this August. I am thinking just taking AS Further Math and not continue A2 exam, because many people advised me that 3 A level + AS Further Math are good enough (my case: taking Math, Economics, Business at school, and taking AS Further Math to strengthen my subject combination - as I plan to apply to university in economics degree). Question: how to notify the target uni of my 4th AS result in UCAS ?

My school is small and they don't open for private candidate, so I take the exam in other school, so 3 A level will be from my exam centre and the 4th AS (or maybe take A2) result in other centre. Question: how can this work in UCAS ?

Thanks.

You list the private exam centre as a part time place of study for the months of the exam-results day. You add the AS level to that exam centre.

Thanks - that is helpful.

Hi, sorry to bother but I am in a similar situation. I am going to take my alevels in may 2025 as a private candidate (internationally - I am from outside of UK). However I was notified that as a private candidate UCAS would not receive your grades and you would have to send your grades to University by yourself. I was wondering whether this is true.

In addition, since I am taking my alevels next year I do not have a UCI yet, so how is UCAS going to identify me? How is it going to send my results to university?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
