I would post but I'm busy doing Maths so I actually get in come September! I got a nice friendly reminder from them yesterday that I need to work on STEP papers. For a moment I thought it was a letter saying they'd changed their minds and didn't want me any more! :p:

The Queens' TSR Wiki page is shocking

we should be ashamed :frown:
Well seeing as I'm the only regular user from Queens' since the wiki was launched, I'm the only plausible person who could fill it in. And I don't really want to.

I've written about 10 words on the wiki page. Hopefully that gets the ball rolling.

Just found out Mark Watson (welsh comedian, been on mock the week and stuff) went to Queens'. How cool

thats a wicked start - the dark side lol

nudge some other queenites(?) to give us all the dark secrets of the place

and btw what is the term for someone at queens'? quenno sounds the coolest
Err. Not sure there is a definititive answer to that one. Old fashioned kinds refer to "Queensman/men", but I hate that word. It sounds so earnest and ridiculous when alterred to Queenswoman. The PC alteration to "Queensperson/people" is far better. Sounds far too ridiculous to be taken seriously.

i remember the good old days of my checking track addiction and if/when we get there we can start the 'queeno'/'queenie' revolution  male/female

Hi everyone!
congratulations on your offer Rudrax, I was rooting for you mate!...
actually, congrats to EVERYONE

Unfortunately, I applied to <cough> the other place (The ford of the ox) and was rejected for Modern Languages (German)
Hindsight is a great thing and all, but I just don't think I was given a chance to shine, so I'm considering applying to Queens' next year for MML (German and Russian) after a gap year.

At first I was put off by the 'brick' look though, it doesn't look particularly 'old', but that's just going from the pictures from the website, which look like they've been taken in the 1970s... I bet it is really pretty when you see it for yourself though.

It seems quite competitive though which is giving me second thoughts... I mean, how come Trinity and John's have a mere 2:1 ratio for MML? It's confusing.

Thnx m8

and applying to Queens' is definitely the right decision
http://www.queens.cam.ac.uk/splash.asp and look at that  Is pure tudor deliciousness (do you get the white tudor style architecture pick?) and it has the mathematical bridge

about competitiveness - it's one of the bigger colleges so i think it just comes down to numbers of applicants but i'm not an expert at all

gl with it - enjoy your gap year and hpefully see you there

heehee...well that's not too shabby! Mine just updated...I don't know whether to withdraw from Durham and St A's and just select Cambridge as firm/Kings as insurance now, or just wait out of curiosity to see if iget an offer from them..

yeh thats tricky - on the one there's the power trip of you rejecting a uni  and then there's the curiosity

i'm still gonna wait to see if kings give me an aab offer to put as my insurance but thats unlikely
