Queens' College (Cambridge) Students and Applicants

Hi, im applying to Queens' for economics, and i was just wondering if any students already there could tell me anything about accomodation (what is it like, is it relatively cheap/expensive etc.) Also, what are the other general student facilities such as bar and canteen like in comparison to the other colleges?

On the Open Day I was shown a room, really nice actually, in Cripps. The person doing the tour said it's approximately £600-900 a semester depending on how big your room is, what facilities etc.

That's a lie. I have the cheapest room available (in Cripps') and that's £762 per term, plus £135 heating bill plus however much my electricity bill is going to be.

For those already at Queens'. Did you get asked questions about all of the 3 topics you wrote down for interview or did a couple of the topics not come up?

Just back from my interview and thought it went pretty badly, looking back at the questions I think I could do them without a problem now but at the time I was a nervous wreck! They say we'll hear on the 3rd of January but i'm certainly not optimistic.

I don't think it's just for maths, I remember at the top it said something about what science applicants might want to put down.

Hmm... I completely screwed up on very basic stuff in one of the questions, but after that I actually found the questions were worryingly easy and weren't developed at all; I was expecting more, and I got the impression that maybe they thought I was a bit rubbish. Did you get the same feeling..?

Remember though that the interview's just one aspect of your application.

Hi, I have my interview on Monday. I am really scared about it cause I am applying for engineering and have no time to review physics :/ Has anybody here had already interview for engineering?

Should I expect more physics or mathematics?
