A dead or inactive strand of the gonorrhoea pathogen is injected into the person's bloodstream. White blood cells respond by producing antibodies to fight off the pathogen. If reinfection occurs, memory cells can make the same antibodies quicker, and there will be more of them to fight off the pathogen.

This is what I would write as an A level Bio student, maybe check it against a mark scheme because mark schemes tend to be specific and I don't know exactly what your specific exam board is hope that helps
