Job prospects for marketing are very good and increasing as the years go by. If it is something you enjoy I would recommend, but you definitely need to enjoy your degree when it lasts 3 years. There are many job opportunities such as; social media manager, product/brand manager, marketing research analyst and many more.
It's one of those things where your soft skills and network are infinitely more important than your qualifications. Your degree will be nothing more than a means to show you are capable of education, and a means to meet people. Psychology, maths or economics would be the most applicable and apart from that it's going to be about how thick-skinned and a people person you are.
Marketing is definitely an in demand skill that I don't really see ever decreasing in value. Pretty much every company needs marketing, and there are numerous different types you can research into.
