Visit day = offer? (uni of southampton)

Im guessing the visit day is just to seperate those who would consider taking the offer if they where given one, from those who put it as a fifth choice and have no interest in going?

i'm sure it's pretty hard for them to tell though

Yes I guess so, but if you dont go (unless you ring up with a valid reason) then I dont know if you would get an offer, however I stand to be corrected.

The letter I said stated something like "failure to attend a visit day will mean that we would be unable to give you an offer"

I've got an inteview for feburary 10th. i just wanted to know what to expect with the 1to1 part of the day. Is there any maths problem sovling, or suprise debugging of a program?

hmmmm i hate to kill this thread but!!!.....

I sent my application off on the 12th dec...had a letter about a visit day which was to include an 'informal chat' sent to me on the 19th....

My visit day was on the 7th of jan....it was terrible!!!!!! im not being nasty but i felt like the tutor who "interviewed me" judged me before i even spoke and didnt want to give me an offer......because of this vibe i completely freaked out!! i couldn’t get my words out i couldn’t tell her the simplistic of answers.....i just literally froze.....im sorry to say that my interview was awful and resulted with me in tears......sad i know....

but when we went back to the room where the other applicants where, they had all been asked questions about why they want to choose there course, why Southampton etc.....and they all thought it went really well....

needless to say im counting down the days until my unsuccessful comes through....gutted as it was my first choice!!!

but this is me and i do get into a bit of a tiz sometimes sooooo don’t worry but then again dont think its going to be perfect.....just expect the unexpected which is something i failed to do.

Who did you get interviewed by?

It's Southampton, they don't take the interview that seriously, besides if they invited you to interview that means they want to give you an offer, let your UCAS speak for itself.
