How do we get the ability send PMs? Do I need to start two threads?

who you wanna pm when youre so new
you have to post a bunch in different forums yk get active and itll come in 3 - 7 days

Thank you for your quick reply. That is fair enough.
I was looking on google for some stuff and I came across this post here https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?p=91658272 I was interested to look into those special papers which were mentioned so I wanted to PM the person. But no worries. I will wait until I get the PM access.

well there are vms which you can use tho everyone sees them if they go on either persons profile or you can make a thread about it and tag said person

Yeah I have the same issue now, I started a thread and don’t know how to reply to a person who answered through pm. I’ve been in here a week though…

I've had student room for like the past 4 years but never really used it and won't let me reply to this pm as 'my profile isn't quite ready'. Very frustrating even though I have met the criteria.
