you need to enter as a deferred student originally or retake admissions tests etc. and go for it again next year. they do this so their numbers are not messed up e.g. if in one year loads of people deferred it would mess up that year and the next year
If you are considering this you should get in touch with your college as soon as possible, with why you want to defer. They don't have to say yes, and they could wait until results day before giving you a decision on that, but you won't do any harm in asking them.
