Access to HE Course for Dental Hygiene and Therapy 2021

Hi,

Is anyone doing Access to HE course this year? I am thinking whether to do it at college or distance learning. There is an Access to Dental Hygiene course via AOLL, did anyone use this provider before? Please give me some details about this course. Is it hard to do distance learning compared to college?

Hi,
I have recently completed my Access to HE in Science this year. My course was part time over 18months, we started at college and then it became distance learning due to COVID. In someways distance learning has its perks as it fits around your lifestyle and responsibilities. However, it can be challenging at times and thats where college learning can be helpful, especially as you can communicate with your tutors face to face without having wait for their reply emails (which can take days). If you are a highly motivated person and can work well on your own then distance learning could be for you. I personally found it worked well for my lifestyle and did not negatively impact my overall grades and I have recently been accepted onto the dental hygiene programme LSBU.
P.S Harriet Ellis also provide an online Access to HE course in allied heath professions have a look at the link you're interested:

Hi, did you start your course with AOLL? I’m looking at starting an Access to HE Nursing / Occupational Therapy course with them and wondered what your experience was like so far?
