I'm having to make a big decision I'd love to get some strangers views on lol - I have offers at both Ox and Cam for my course and a scholarship to cover most of my course fees at both - heart was set on Oxford, but have now been given a 9,000 GBP scholarship at Cambridge to use on accomodation/living costs. I'd be using my own savings at Oxford. the course is fundamentally the same at both and both accomodate for my specific research interests, harder to get into Ox one though and theres a slightly smaller cohort. What would you do in my boat? Seems dumb to turn down a lot of free money but I do wonder if i'll always kick myself for not going to Ox?

Cambridge is fantastic, and easily as good as Oxford as an option. You should feel the same way about Cambridge as you do Oxford. £9000 is a lot of money and will make a huge difference. You won't regret going to Cambridge, but you will regret turning down £9000!

Does anyone know what's Trinity College like? I would like to learn more about it besides the website and videos I have seen so far. Some insights would be appreciated if someone knows.

Oxford and Cambridge are pretty much the same, so no you wouldn't be kicking yourself! They are usually ranked very similar, with one above the other based on the rankings ahah I had offers from both last year with scholarship at Cam and nothing at Ox, and went to cam... I loved my MPhil at Cambridge! Incredible experience both academically and socially  I have friends at Oxford and it seems like academically and socially they're very similar. And Cambridge in general seems to have more funding options, so I would definitely take up the scholarship (that's a big deal and something that you can put on your resume.. it matters in academia). If you have any questions about Cambridge let me know

I ended up reapplying to Oxford for my DPhil this year, and got nominated for funding but didn't get it haha

Hello! I got an offer from department a month ago, and the admission team told me that the official offer would be sent from University later. But I haven’t received the official offer yet and it has been a month. I’m worried about the ATAS application as it requires a lot of time. Should I email the department or the central university admission team?

Can anyone give me any insight into living at the H B Allen centre? Is it a relatively quiet environment?

I was wondering if anyone received the OCIS scholarship?

Do we need to have a CAS number before we apply for a visa or can we start the visa process prior?

I just tried and you need to have it before you can submit the application. I still haven't got mine either or received a reply from my department administrator about whether it is being processed. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the Visa once you've applied?
