From what I understand, Both Cam and oxford offer scholarships/funding, so when you apply, you tick the " seeking for funding" box, and they consider whether to fund you or not? Can anyone confirm if its true, and on what basis do they give scholarships. Because, I really wanted to apply, but money is a big issue.
PS: International student here.

Wonder if it's because I'm doing it part-time - will PM you!

Hey! I found out that I was given college place but I didn’t receive the email! Maybe the same happened to you so email the graduate administration or your department to double check :-)

Did the timeline to request an application assessment score end?

For people waiting to hear back from OCIS I think the results have been released. I called the Academic dept earlier today in OCIS and they told me I was unsuccessful and shortly after that I received an email confirming the same. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!

Do we need to have a CAS number before we apply for a visa or can we start the visa process prior?

Yes, you need a CAS number before you can apply, however you can start preparing your visa application without submitting. This could be a good idea as the form is lengthy and gathering some of the information (e.g. your detailed travel history) could take time.

I just tried and you need to have it before you can submit the application. I still haven't got mine either or received a reply from my department administrator about whether it is being processed. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the Visa once you've applied?

The wait times have shifted around based on the official Gov UK website. The standard processing time tends to be 3 weeks but I have seen them change it to six weeks, then four weeks...lots of delays due to the Ukraine visa scheme.

I have applied for my visa and am at the two week mark, found the whole process very draining.

Haven't heard from any scholarships so I might withdraw my place at Oxford as I can't afford to go. I'll take a year out. I've just done an MA at Cambridge so might give the Oxford one a miss and get a job for a year instead. Feel very conflicted.

Hey I’m sorry to hear about this. Why don’t you wait it out a few more weeks, maybe you might hear of a scholarship? But remember you can always reapply when you’re financially ready as I do not see why they wouldn’t give you an offer again. Best of wishes, and always keep your head high 😊

You could try to defer your place, if it would be possible.

Scholarships are given based on academic merit with some for specific nationalities/subjects! Definitely apply, and then if you don't get funding you just don't attend! Totally valid and the case for a lot of people  I applied for my master's twice, getting funding in the second round (at Cambridge not Oxford though, no funding from Oxford) and then applied for PhD this year at Ox and got in without funding so will not go! Might give it another shot next year
