    Hmm... I'm not conversant with LaTex..
    can you have a look at this problem?

    I know that A^2 + B^2 = 4..
    but how do i go from here? or a different approach?

    I'm not saying this is the best approach, or even if it works, but if you actually calculate (A+iB)^2, you should find a lot of stuff cancels.
    Then try squaring again to get (A+iB)^4, and then twice more to get (A+iB)^8 and (A+iB)^16. Then cube the last result.
