Brodie Williams running in the final heat for GB alongside Rylov - fastest in the world this year.

Rylov of ROC is fully on form.
Rylov qualifies in 1.56.05

Greenbank made it in 1.54, meaning he qualifies fastest!
Brodie Williams is also through to the semis :woo:

Very exciting stuff for GB backstroking
Now for some distance breastroke, my favourite
I must say the Irish swimmer has some woeful streamlining on this 200m breast :s-smilie:
Here's the heat with Wood and Renshaw! :colone:
Kaylene Corbett swims a lifetime best to pip Renshaw to the touch in this heat.

Abbie Wood down in 7th, swimming 2.24.13. Unsure she will qualify. :s-smilie:

Here comes Annie Lazor and Lilly King in the final heat

Here comes Annie Lazor and Lilly King in the final heat

My mistake, that was the penultimate heat :zomg:
Schoenmaker of South Africa is dominant in this final heat.

Fastest time in the world this year belongs to her.
Swimming very close to world record splits...
0.05 seconds off the world record! :woo:

A new Olympic Record :king1:
Abbie Wood clings into the semis in 15th place.
Molly Renshaw more comfortable in 6th fastest.
Laslo Cseh in his 5th Olympic games.

Arguably the best swimmer who's never won an olympic gold medal. :frown:
Mitch Larkin takes a very tight heat.
Cseh turns 2nd.

Looks like sub 1.58 will be enough to go through to the semi finals.

Here comes Joe Litchfield
Don't think Litchfield is going to qualify. Swam 2 minutes.
What a powerful heat with these swimmers.

Michael Andrew of the USA in lane 4, and Duncan Scott in lane 5.

Let's see.
Michael Andrew flirting with the world record there!
Duncan Scott through to the semis too.
Now for the women's 4x2 free relay.

Australia with the recent world record in 2019.
USA traditionally dominant in this event.
Bronze is anybody's game - China look in good form for this.

These heats will be interesting.
China turning first on leg one.

This is fascinating (Adrian).
USA clawing back up this heat from 6th to 3rd to 1st.

Germans swimming very strongly!
Oh my goodness (Adrian) we've not seen such a gap in a swimming event in this Olympics so far!
