Must say I am not too fussed on Peaty's aggressive attitude. He makes a partially valid point about the team having belief - but I think generally a lot of things are just aligning well. Duncan Scott is the most decorated British Swimmer - not Peaty. James Guy has been swimming forever and has provided the team with a real level head and experience. Tom Dean's gold was really a fluke. A brilliant fluke, but a surprise all the same at his debut Olympics. The British women have done brilliantly, consistently in finals (as we always have done) and stealing some silvers and bronzes, plus solid relay performances. But we've always done that. There's been no hugs gold stars for female swimming since Becky Adlington in 2008 with her 2 golds in 1 games. Peaty has won 2 individual olympic golds (1 in Tokyo, 1 in Rio). So on that basis, I wouldn't give much credence to this "Peaty effect", it's just a brilliant progression that's been building in British swimming since Adlington caused a funding injection from 2008 and Adam Peaty just happens to be on the crest of this wave in my opinion.

I kind of agree, I do think that Peaty's attitude is very close to arrogance a lot of the time.
