Josie! That does sound a busy week! That's an amazing picture - did you get to see them all lying down and making it?

That sounds cool! Our wall is quite small so it was nice to go somewhere with a bit more variety.

It’s only when they’re tied up, you’re meant to unclip the rope first so you don’t get tangled/knocked over or anything. They can also get you with their front legs often when you least expect it, I’ve been kneed in the head a few times where I’ve been crouched down by their front legs and they’ve just moved their leg and I was in the wrong position  Yeah I had the same with my dog last year when she broke her nail! I tried bandaging that a bit but they never really stayed in place

Yeah I’ve had a few takeaways with friends but couldn’t afford to do it often, I’m already going over budget  Good to know but I currently don’t have any garam masala

Not very nice today!

Oops, I've been inactive again

Still not much going on in my life... Alex just submitted an assignment three weeks before the deadline which is unprecedented, I'm a bit shocked  (in a good way, of course!)

I'm feeling like I'm finally returning to normal, but if I do too much in a day I'm in pain in the evening, and I still can't hack walking down the stairs :s-smilie:

Alex's mum is being a bit of a pain..... She knows his dad is getting married in the summer and she's basically told Alex that she wants nothing to do with him if he goes to the wedding.... She's been known to make threats like that and then forget about them after a couple weeks but it's still not very pleasant, Alex feels like he has to choose between his parents :s-smilie:

I got another offer for an MA  Still not sure if that's what I wanna do but it's a nice ego boost

Wow! submitting an assignment 3 weeks before a deadline, I don't think I've ever done that and I try to be organized and start things early! Im very impressed.

It'll take time for you to get stronger and return to normal but it will come and its good news on your MA offer.

No need to worry about being inactive it happens, I'm stupidly busy for these next 4 days as its our final week of classes and my practical ones all have performances/presentations plus its tech weekend for the senior dance show so I've been busy with that, I need my days to be about twice as long to get everything done before the deadlines and to top it off one of my professors has a deadline for our final project of 5pm on Tuesday 5/3 and still hasn't given us the ground plan that we need to make the light plot and other stuff making up 2/3 of the project!

Welcome back nearly normal Nathan.
Things seem to be looking up for you both.
It wasn't long ago when you thought you wouldn't be able able to walk down the aisle.
And for what it's worth Alex should go to his dad's wedding. You neve give in to blackmail.
It's great to hear from you again Nathan. Keep thinking positively and everything will be OK.

"Nearly normal Nathan" would be a good username. Nice alliteration. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling closer to normal! And lovely to hear that the academics are properly appreciating your work!

And yes I agree Alex should go to his dad's wedding - all the more because his mum said that. He can't let her have that power over him or she'll keep making ultimata like that - if it works.

Thank you  I'm really pleased with how far I've come already, I really shouldn't complain. Going outside is still a little scary but I think I almost look normal while walking now :h:

I really want Alex to go to the wedding because he can bring a plus one and I looooove weddings

I know right! I usually submit things 3-5 days before the deadline and people call me "too organised"

You do sound really busy! So are you done with everything after this week or do you have exams coming up too? I really don't miss the type of stress you must be going through now!

Hahaha that's funny, I feel like I'm "nearly normal" when it comes to a lot of things

You're right about the wedding, Alex is worried but I know his mum doesn't mean it, she might ignore him for a week or two but as soon as she needs a babysitter she'll be blowing up Alex's phone

I think I'd seen a few episodes, I don't remember watching it religiously though which is probably why it never crossed my mind. I will agree it seems a common thing that our school sports teams suck so no one watches them !

Yep - the only people that care are on the teams, but I wish more secondary schools/sixth forms had cheer teams, I would love to be on one!!

Yeah it was great to watch. It's participants with a few people from Gallagher (they're our title sponsor so can do whatever they want really) and the head of community is the comma so it boosted his ego.

That made me laugh - I'm glad it gave him an ego boost! Wow, 75,000 players is a heck of a lot! I'm glad that things are going well, even if they're a bit busy!

It brought back so many memories for me some good some bad but the "how dare you!" definitely stood out and made me laugh I can recall myself saying it many times 😬 What did you think now you've finished it (assuming you did)?

I know what you mean about some good some bad - I was in a similar situation to Charlie at school, but my Nick was straight! I certainly wish my school experience had been more like theirs! (Without the bullying, obviously - but everyone at my school was fairly chill, so I think I'd've been okay if I had been out.) I've very nearly finished it; I'm going to watch the last two episodes later on tonight (I've been trying to watch it slowly!) - but I absolutely love it. It's made my gay heart erupt with joy so many times, and I've cried a lot too xD I think the music is absolutely on point, and I love the cute references to the graphic novel (like when little stars or colours appear around them), which I haven't actually read: I just adore the aesthetic! Downside is that it's made me absolutely desperate to have a boyfriend, and I was pretty bad before!! I just want what they have I guess

Would you ever want to try climbing out in nature? I don't mean massive cliff faces or anything (not like the image below!), but like on rock climbing trails (I think they do have guide ropes/rails!).

Spoiler

Oh, that makes more sense! I was being an idiot; I was trying to imagine how you'd do anything at all if you couldn't go behind or in front of a horse! Being kneed in the head certainly sounds unpleasant - the 'worst' animal-related thing that's happened to me is when two Golden Retrievers got so excited and jumped up at me and I just went straight over  (It was hilarious - I read a tweet once that said something like "NEVER apologise for your dog jumping up at me. If I die by being taken out by 200 pounds of fluff, then that's how I go!")

A nail break's a nasty thing - I hope she recovered quickly! The way we ended up doing it was literally taping it on, as nothing else worked! And he still managed to get it off a couple of times...

No, of course! I've no idea how the person I know manages - I think his maintenance loan just goes 50% on alcohol and 50% on food! Sorry, it was a bit of a ridiculous suggestion!

You did better than me! 6 seems to be my average, now...

That's excellent news, well done @nicalibres! You're doing brilliantly!

It's amazing how far you've come, and well done for persevering, though it must be really unpleasant having the aches and pains still :frown: Nevertheless, you're getting there Nathan! And soon you'll be completely back to normal

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that - Alex should do whatever he feels is right, regardless of what his mother says. If he feels that it'd be odd for him to go, or he doesn't want to, than that should be his decision, just as it should if he does want to go. From what you and Alex have said before, it had seemed like his mother was improving a bit, and growing a bit more... well, maternal, for want of a better word! Hopefully this is just a bit of a blip, and she'll realise that it's not up to her whether Alex goes or not. (It's up to you, and how much you want to eat wedding cake! (Kidding!))

That's amazing news!!!! Well done! :santa3: (I couldn't find an emoji wearing a party hat, which I thought would be rather celebration-y, so this will have to do!) Whatever you end up deciding to do, it's great to know that you've got that choice, either way!

Oh! I almost forgot!! I heard about this ages ago, but I thought I'd mention it here, owing to the wonderful plethora of LGBTQ+ folks on this thread. Basically, there's a website called Queering the Map, and anyone can anonymously post a pin anywhere in the world where something LGBTQ+ happened to them! There's pins of people's first kisses, engagements, where they first came out to someone - it's tear-jearkingly adorable. I recommend everyone check it out, if only to read all the adorable messages!!!

Omg I go back to Pottermore every year or so, just to see what house/patronus I get. (I've heard of HIH, but I haven't done more than Google it once, I don't think!) My guess is that you'd be a Ravenclaw.... (I am!) And my patronus is always a dog of some kind!

Thank you so much  I don't really have much of a choice other than to persevere, and you should see the state of my mental health, but still thank you

Alex does want to go to the wedding, he wants to have more of a relationship with his dad and he wants to meet his half-sisters! His mum is very much up and down, it's not good for Alex's mental health but he wants to stay in contact with her because he does care about her (and about his brother, obviously)

That website is so cute!!! I may or may not have added a pin of my own, it needs to be approved before it'll appear but I'll let you know once it does. It's me being a hopeless romantic (of course ) so I hope it gets posted and then I can show it to Alex!!

She's not shy around us at all anymore, and it turns out she's quite the cuddly attention-seeker (Alex says she's just like me!) She loves to sleep with us at night and insists on being in the middle, she gets whiny when Alex and I are spooning and she can't comfortably climb on top  So cute!!!
