Alex loves teaching! Last year was intense work-life balance wise, so he's only working 4 days a week now which means he can hopefully get the rest of his stuff done on his day off rather than having to work evenings and weekends. He loves being with the kids but doesn't love the admin side of things!
I've been feeling okay, apart from being kinda stuck in a job I don't like, but I'm feeling secure in my relationship and I'm working out loads which helps with my anxiety π
We don't get to spend that much time together in the evening because I often work late and Alex often has school stuff to do, but when we do find time to watch something together it's usually something funny or casual like Brooklyn 99 or Modern Family. We've not got the same taste in films at all so we hardly ever watch those, Alex likes pretentious artsy stuff whilst I'd rather watch a romantic comedy π
Luca is good! He stays with us for a few days every couple months, it's good practice for when we'll have kids of our own. He's obsessed with animals so we take him to petting zoos or just let him play with the cats, who stay inside all the time except when we let them into our little garden bits, they're not really outdoor cats
My main wish/goal right now is to find a different job! Preferably one with better pay and where I don't have to work evenings so I can see Alex more often! And have an amazing wedding of course!! It's less than a year away now which means it's on my mind a bit more than it was before, we've still got a lot of things to plan for it so at the moment I'm not sure whether it makes me feel happy or stressed. The honeymoon though makes me very happy, we'll be going to Thailand for 3 weeks π

It's wonderful to see what it has led to and I am so pleased you are getting married and buying a house.

I remember reading your first thread while in my first year of uni and procrastinating from classwork and well here's me procrastinating again reading your 6 year update this time in my 2nd year of grad school, nothings changed in my life other than living in the US (not as appealing since January but here we are...)
Buying a house and getting married I can only imagine how exciting that must feel, that's being a full on adult!!

Hey guys. It's been a while since I was last on here. When. if first discovered you guys, I had just started my own university journey as well as getting over a broken heart. Thinking I would never get over my own loss, it was uplifting to see you two just starting out. 6 years later and Ive finished university, become a teacher, just recently celebrated my 2 year anniversary with my own partner, and we just bought a dog yesterday!.
I am so happy to see you two thriving in your lives. The waters were rough for a moment but you two made it out the other end and have become so much stronger for it. Thank you for being that motivation that I needed to get through my own dark patches, and I hope many other lost travellers are guided by these posts. I wish you all many many many happy years to come

Still reading. Nathan, I'm proud of you and alex for everything you accomplished. I hope you both enjoy yourselves in your married life, it's amazing you guys got married.
