AS-Further Maths Imperial

Hi!
I'm planning to apply to Imperial as my first choice and I do A-level Maths, Chemistry, Physics and I'm wondering if I should take AS-level FM at year 13
I have asked my outreach officer and his colleagues about it and they recommended me to do it as it will boost my application and my teachers agree as well.
However, I have asked Physics students at Imperial and they have said the opposite.
So now I'm stuck if I should actually do it or not...Any advice?

'the opposite' would suggest that the AS would be a detriment. Really either it helps or it makes no difference.

It will have some useful content that gets covered in the first term, like linear algebra and complex numbers. But by the end of first year though it doesn't matter much whether someone's done further maths or not.
