Hi everyone! I have a Model UN conference coming up and the country I’ve been assigned is the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The committee I’m in is UNHCR, and the topic we’re looking at is the social inclusion of refugees. I have done some research on Congo but I don’t think I know enough.

What do you know about Congo? Any information on the culture, its history, anything at all would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry you haven't gotten a reply as of yet! As an avid MUNer myself, I can recommend these sites to you that I normally use as a starting place. Just remember though, you'll never know "enough" about a country but its okay, as long as you know their position on the topic that's the most important thing!
https://imuna.org/resources/country-profiles/
https://www.un.org/en/library/unms (see what speeches your country has made at previous UN sessions!)
and also the CIA world factbook of course.

You may also find it useful to check out your country's official government website.

All the best! Hope it goes well! Anything else lmk!
